Logo Design Brief
Dear Creatives!
I am looking for a talented graphic designer who will create a logotype for new, London based web design & development agency called Ministry of Web Design. We are a bunch of creative people with high aspirations, aiming not only to provide excellent design & development solutions but also to have a real and significant impact on the whole industry by promoting web standards and good practices among designers and programmers, both in real life and online.
The logo should reflect our professional attitude towards what we do. It should have a bit of this "real" and "serious" feel of various UK ministries
(like Ministry of Justice - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ministry_of_Justice.png,
Ministry of Defence - http://www.atl.aero/images/stories/uk_ministry_of_defence_badge_n12957.jpg), i.e. create a feeling that we are an official government institution.
However, at the same time, it should provide a visual hint that in fact we are not, and that we percieve ourselves and our identity from a healthy perspective.
Please read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_coat_of_arms_of_the_United_Kingdom as it may provide some inspiration. Ministry of Sound logo (http://ministryofsoundtickets.co.uk/) is a design which follows similar pattern, but we are looking for something more sophisticated.
We don't want a copy of coat of arms. Really. We want something fresh, modern and original.
Some more inspiration:

Ideally, the logo should be round shaped with a crown at the top or incorporated into the design. It should contain some elements indicating that we operate in digital industry and the design world. We are keen to see some well balanced colour combinations and great typography.
Perhaps it would be good idea to replace golden lion and silver unicorn with something else, or remove them at all..? Just a suggestion.
We will mainly use the logo on our website (around 150 x 150 pixels), but it should look good in any size. We will use minified version of it in the footer (50x50 pixels), and in black on white background or in white on dark backgrounds.
We will also use the logo in print, on outdoor banners, in magazines and publications.
We would like the designer to incorporate the above description into a modern logotype with a real impact. We are looking for something very creative.
Use your imagination and creativity to the full.
Thanks,
Voytek
