Logo Design Brief

Ektimo is a new company comprising of 3 companies merging together.

So this is a new brand and name is reflective of what we are about and our values. Though we are an environmental company (our core business' function is to test industrial air pollution), our main focus is on our clients being appreciative and our team being appreciative. Appreciation is how we measure that we are a successful and sustainable entity that adds value.

Appreciate has a triple meaning in English –

1. To appreciate someone’s point of view.
2. To appreciate the service provided by someone.
3. To appreciate in value.

These 3 versions all have a “value” focus and they are “conscious” because they create an awareness of ourselves and others.

I feel that if we value (appreciate) our clients input and use general systems theory (biggest picture) and root cause analysis we will be adding value and in turn creating appreciative clients. Appreciative clients will support appreciative employees (self-actualisation). Creating appreciative clients will also make our business sustainable and will also cause it to appreciate in value.

In summation appreciate is a huge driving force. So the name Ektimo supports that.

EKTIMO is Greek for appreciate. This will be our master brand. Under it, we will have:

Ektimo Environmental
Ektimo Odour Lab
Ektimo Instruments
And so on...

For example, Apple is a master brand. Apple iPod, Apple Computers, Apple iPad etc

The name Ektimo is congruent with a large company mentality……Exxon, Mobil, Rio Tinto, BUPA, Nando’s, Alcoa.

If our company had a personality, it would be born to have fun, to learn, and to make a difference in the world.

Best design to win has the opportunity to create all design collateral for this new entity.
