Packaging Design Brief
Coffee Bag Design Size ( bag size 12 -16oz / 340 -454 grams / 1lb - dimensions) THE BAG IS GUSSETTED - meaning it has 4sides , like the bags shown in the attachments

We need a design for a retail 1lb coffee bag to package our Artisan handcrafted roasted coffee beans. The design we choose will be the standard 'look' for our freshly roasted coffee. We have our logo and need to incorporate that into an original, overall design that includes areas for text boxes on the front, back and sides. We have provided a draft of the text at the bottom of the brief to be incorporated in the design. One text box on the front will remain blank. This is where we will adhere a label that will describe the particular coffee in the package. And blank text box on the back to print a bar code.
(Side of the bag : one side of the bag would be our company story (details can be found on our web site) and the other side panel brewing instruction. I would be able to provide the txt for the 'story' and 'brewing instructions' as needed)
These are our preliminary thoughts and are open minded to other options.
We want the design to convey that our coffee is an ethically sourced , locally hand roasted in small batches , freshly roasted, sustainable, socially and environmentally responsible.
This bag will be the our main core bag for use with all the Blends / Roasts so it will need to be starting point for our overall bag design branding. We are very open to all and any creative ideas..
Ideally we would like to use a crisp white gloss bag - the logo would be the main focal point with an area below for where we would place our sticker - roast / blend details .we will be to using a sticker on the front of the bag to identify the various roasts / blends we offer until a point of having a different bag for each coffee. We don't want the bag the appear 'busy' as we prefer images over covering the whole bag with a photo.. the design needs to be crisp , clean , not overall busy, classy , using inspiration perhaps from the logo , lions mountain range , blue ocean, green trees .... our customers enjoy the finer things in life and our brand is more of a luxury product.

FRESHNESS
Always use freshly roasted (Lions Bay Coffee Company)
beans and within 1-2 weeks of purchase.
STORING
Your coffee has 4 enemies:
Heat, Moisture, Light & Air
Keep your coffee cool, dry and dark in an
airtight container for maximum flavour.
GRINDING
Grind beans just before
brewing. Select the best
grind for each brewing method:
Espresso = Finer Grind
Filtered = Medium Grind
French Press = Coarse Grind
BREWING
Water I Ratio I Temperature
Water: Fresh, cold, filtered water
Ratio: Use 2 rounded tablespoons
of coffee per 8 oz of water.
Temperature: Heat water between 90 – 96 C
Adjust brewing methods to your personal taste.
