Logo Design Brief
Our company creates stone candles by carefully selecting unique stones and then adding inlays, precious metals, and gemstones to create the finished candle. Each candle is a unique piece. Our work is primarily sold through juried art shows or festivals.
Updates
Thank you for all of the submissions. Here is some general feedback about what we liked/didn't so far:
What we liked:
1. Several designs used two colors to make up the word "Stonewicks". Some used one color for the word "Stone" and a different color for "wicks". Others used different colors for the leading "S". Its an interesting concept and we would like to see more.
2. Some incorporated clipart of various stones. If we go with an image we like simple. We are also intrigued by what an image of a rock trail marker (google Cairn) might create. Keep it simple.
3. Several variations on the letter "i" some dotting it with a flame and others making the whole letter a flame. We were impressed by several choices of color in this.
What didn't work for us...
1. Several designs used a long line off the leading "S" on either the top or bottom (some both). The accent has the effect of creating a look that is similar to what you might see on a western branding iron. Good if you are a steakhouse but not exactly "art".
2. Some clipart was a little "cartoonish" . Please remember we sell art and compete to be in juried shows. We do not sell at craft fairs or flee markets.

Must have
- We would like to use both the company name and a picture in the logo. Ideally we would use a picture of a flame to "dot" the "i" in the work Stonewicks. . I have attaced a file of our stone but the thumbnail appears to crop the images on the right side. You can view the actual picture on stonewicks.com
Nice to have
- One idea that we would like to see is to have one of the "s" in Stonewicks reversed almost like an apersand but using the same font
Should not have
- This should not look cheap or full of glitz and glitter. Our candles are designed to create a special natural environment that allows the flame to paint reflections on the stone . Organic look.
