Providing classes for professional and aspiring professional dancers, “Rebel Ballet” takes traditionally-trained dancers and helps them to be so much more. They want help them to relearn the love of movement. They want them to once more feel that electricity that drew them to ballet as children and teens. The young principals of the new studio are both elite-trained, experienced ballet and musical theatre dancers who have a thirst to contribute to the evolution of ballet by sharing their experience with other budding professionals – to be the rebels of the ballet world by upending traditional approaches to the reverence inherent in the elite models of ballet.
Rebel Ballet needs a dynamic visual brand where shapes, colours, fonts etc. reflect a young, attractive dynamism that is embodied by both RB’s mission and principals themselves. Ballet is an art form with a long history – a history that has been associated with elitism and convention. Rebel Ballet is telling the world that it can contribute to the modernisation of a venerable art form that should not be left to die, and yet needs to always be moving forward – honouring its roots, while looking to an evolving future.
Please: No designs that include tutus.

Updates
Thank-you for your submissions. As we review the initial submissions, it is worth reiterating that Rebel Ballet's image should reflect a contemporary approach to ballet. In addition, designers should bear in mind that ballet is for both men and women thus the design cannot suggest a female-only audience. And...no tutus! Thanks again. The work is terrific.

Since this is the final day for submissions to create a new logo for Rebel Ballet, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have submitted. There is a lot of great work here and it will be a difficult decision -- the final decision is up to Ian & Alessia, the principals in the company. Once the contest closes, we will move forward quickly to make a decision. Thank-you all for your interest.
