Logo Design Brief

We need to refresh our logo for 2011 as it is beginning to look outdated. Our organisation is IAML Australia and we are the Australian branch of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives & Documentation Centres. IAML is a not for profit organisation designed to connect music librarians and other professionals from academic, public, & private sector services across Australia. We would welcome 1 of the following 2 designs;

Option 1: Refresh our current log so that it appears more modern (attached). This would be adopted by a number of international branches and IAML International by simply changing the colour. Our branch colour is usually blue but selecting the correct hue is also important. Our temporary website can be viewed at www.iamlaust.org for colour matching. Text must include IAML AIBM IVMB.

Option 2: Design a new logo specifically for use by our Australia branch to reflect music librarianship in Australia, retaining key elements of the original logo as it represents our parent organisation. It does not need to remain blue however orange is a strong brand colour for our Amsterdam colleagues and Green for our parent organisation IAML International. We'd like to avoid cliche use of musical notes & clefs.

The finished product should be suitable for web & print communications including our website, email footers, and letterheads.
