Logo Design Brief

We've just changed our museum name to Maine Forestry Museum (view our website at www.rlrlm.org under page "fundraising" to view our mission statement and vision and view our Facebook site for photos & more info-need to update website as well.) We need a fresh, innovate name that combines conservation and forestry's history and industry. We plan to expand the Museum facility to accommodate and display additional artifacts, exhibits, and interactive learning experiences that bring lessons of our history, related science, and environmental stewardship to life. We wish to exclude the word "Logging" from the logo as "forestry" is more user-friendly in the 21st century

Updates

Hello, I've given the board members a deadline for this Weds., Nov. 5th to send in their top 3 logo choices. From there, I'll compile the list and we'll have our final three. Then, if they request any changes, suggestions - I'll notify the designers and hopefully, we'll get the best logo that fits our needs. Thanks to all of you for your submissions. This is an emotional and sentimental time for all of us here at the museum as we've had the "Rangeley Lakes Region Logging Museum" name since 1979. We've learned that due to the negative undertones of the word "logging" that dates back to the early 2000's when logging companies were strip-cutting land, we have remained challenged to receive any grant funding due to our previous name. Therefore, we made the change to "Maine Forestry Museum" in hopes that this will carry us forward for another 35 years. We are trying to stay true to our "roots" by requesting a logo with a forest-theme-trees in Maine used for lumber are pine trees and spruce trees; logging horses, cross-cut saws and/or tools such as an ax that immediately capture what tools were used in the woods in years past - we wish to combine the history of logging with a fresh, new logo design. I will be in touch with you once we've narrowed down our designs to three. For those designers wishing to submit more designs, I will gladly send them off to our board members for their review if you can forward the designs to me by Nov. 4th. We will definitely choose the winning design through DesignCrowd. Thanks so much. June Aleck, Secretary

Hello, Thanks to all that have submitted designs for our new logo. I took the liberty to delete some designs that I had sent feedback to the certain designers on and had not received any updated logo designs. Also, with 43 designs, it was getting a bit overwhelming for some of our board members. We are in the process of narrowing down our top three designs. Once we choose the three, we will contact the designers if we have any further design requests so that we can all nearly see what the finished result would look like. Thank you very much for all of your submissions. Sincerely, June Aleck, Secretary

We thank you all for submitting your logo design entries to us. It's been a very emotional, difficult decision to change our original logo since 1979. We have selected a winner and we just want everyone to know how thankful we are for your assistance. We will definitely recommend DesignCrowd designers to anyone in need of logos, etc. Many thanks again! Sincerely, June Aleck, Secretary
