Logo Design Brief
We need a more versatile logo design for a company based in Austin, TX called "Curb" that has a whole home intelligence product. Curb is a hardware and software product that makes homes smarter, safer, and more energy efficient. The Curb hardware device connects to your home's circuit breaker box and monitors electricity usage at the circuit level. The Curb software application gives homeowners information about how much they're spending on electricity in real time, which devices and zones in the home consume the most electricity, if there are unusual energy usage patterns (like a refrigerator door left open or a curling iron left on), and alerts to help people be more energy efficient and save money.
The design should be clean, simple, and unique. It should communicate the idea of the connected energy home of the future. Our current logo is attached. The final design can either be an improvement on this logo, or an entirely new logo design. We would like to see a vertical, horizontal, color, and monotone version of each logo design.
Creative Direction:
1) We think of Curb as the "energy heartbeat of the home" or the "energy brain of the home" because it is the central device that connects other smart devices and enables people to understand holistically how their homes are using energy. This idea can be incorporated into the design if it makes sense.
2) We're interested in incorporating the design into the wordmark. For instance, is there an interesting way to make the U in Curb look like an outlet plug or is there a way to incorporate an electrical signature design into the wordmark? (see Curb Design Sketches jpg for visual thought starters.)
3) Color palettes that we are considering, are listed below. Not all colors need to be used in a single design. Feel free to explore other color palettes.

Tech savvy people who are conscious of their energy usage and buy products to make their homes more connected and efficient. Probably owns a Nest thermostat, SmartThings, Belkin WEMO, EnergyStar appliances, solar panels, electric cars, etcetera. Likely 25-45 years old, living in cities in the US.
