Logo Design Brief

We are starting a new distillery based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. We will predominantly be a whisky distillery, but we'll also make vodka, gin, rum, brandy, etc. We need a brand logo that can be used for bottles, shirts, glassware, and other merchandise.

I have attached a photo of a Black Grackle (staring at the camera) that I really like and would prefer this to be the inspiration for the brand logo. I like the dark, humorous, mischievous, and ominous look on the bird. We will also entertain logos that are text only.

Colors: IF you choose to use color, I realize birds have a lot of subtle, iridescent colors on them but I would definitely like to see the black, royal blue/purple, and yellow eyes. I have included some other photos (Black Grackle II & III) for color inspiration. IT IS OK TO USE BLACK & WHITE/GRAYSCALE AS WELL.

Target Market(s)

This will be used on our bottle labels so we want something that is serious, classy and that you could picture being used on a bottle of whisky (or other spirit).
