Logo for series of automotive software projects

This is what Chariott was looking for in their logo design

We need a logo for a series of projects in the automotive open-source software domain. The first project is called "Chariott," but there will be additional, related projects, yet-to-be-named. The emphasis in these projects is developer productivity, dynamic and metadata driven architecture, and digital representation of vehicles. (The current logo shown for Chariott is just the default logo for all Eclipse projects.)

Each project will have its own name, so we’d like a general design in which we can ourselves edit and replace the text part with future project names (ie., the overall design and graphic part will show that the projects all come from the same submitter, but they'll each have their own name – Chariott, Project 2, Project 3, etc).
