Invasive species pose a major risk to our environment and economy. They are considered the second greatest threat to biodiversity after habitat loss and cost Albertans an estimated $2 billion annually.
We would like a logo designed for our group, the South West Invasive Managers. We are land managers that manage invasive species (e.g., spotted knapweed, oxeye daisy, leafy spurge, orange hawkweed, toadflax, burdock, etc.). The purpose of this group's formation was to gather the accumulated knowledge and experience of invasive plant managers from the southwest corner of Alberta
- to discuss existing and emerging shared invasive prevention & management issues, and begin to develop regional strategies. The area of focus includes the mountains, foothills, and fescue grasslands bordering British Columbia and Montana. Our primary focus is on invasive plants.
