This is what Bites and Sites - A Taste of Launceston was looking for in their logo design
BACKGROUND: I am writing this from Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. Tasmania is "an island off an island". It is small, but has a strong international reputation as a pristine, clean, green environment, producing world class premium food and wine. It is regularly written up in overseas newspapers, The Times of London, NY Times etc. showcasing the produce and the wilderness experiences.
Launceston also has some of the best preserved buildings from the early settlement of Australia in the early 1800”s
Tasmania was previously known as "The Apple Isle" due to export of apples and pears to the UK.
We are starting a walking tour of Launceston, called Bites and Sights - A Taste of Launceston, and I have attached some of the background information that hopefully will assist you.
We are looking for a clean modern image and have toyed with the idea of an apple (maybe with some sort of graphic representation of the map of Tasmania, showing where Launceston is located).
