Poster for science-fiction film

This is what a business in United Kingdom was looking for in their poster design

I’m looking to produce a pitch document to help me find producers and financing for my sci-fi thriller, The Short Straw.

The Short Straw tells the story of the crew of a stranded starship who discover that their crippled vessel can only keep half of them alive. Now they must choose who gets to live – and who must die…

The focus of the film is the human story and the desperate choices people make when their backs are against the wall. Think Apollo 13 meets Alive.

The feel of the poster must incorporate the sci-fi/futuristic setting and the emotional tension. The mood will be tense, dramatic, dark, threatening (but no horror/gore/blood).

Colours will be blues, greens and greys/blacks, contrasted with cerise red.

Ideally, as this is very much a human story, the poster should incorporate the images of the main characters – but herein lies the challenge of the project as no actors are attached at this stage, and I do not want to use stock or im… Read more
