For the first time in history, there are over 1 billion hungry people in the world. One of the reasons for the lack of serious action by governments is that there is little public pressure on them to address hunger and nutrition related problems.
The Hunger and Nutrition Commitment Index (HANCI) tracks political commitment to addressing hunger and malnutrition. It analyses what governments say they will do, compares this with what they actually do, and highlights the difference between the two. Our hope is that by producing a robust and credible analysis we can:
1. increase the political leverage of global advocacy efforts
2. hold governments and international agencies to account
3. encourage stronger leadership and more effective responses to hunger and malnutrition.
We are looking for a logo design which can be used on the forthcoming project website and publications, and those of our partners and funders.
To get more of a feel for the project you can check out the website of the pilot project the Hunger Reduction Commitment Index HRCIndex.org.

Requirements
Must have
- The logo should contain both a visual graphic element and the acronym HANCI
Nice to have
- The logo should stand out but be versatile enough both in design and shape to sit comfortably on a range of partner websites and publications. A square design using fairly neutral colors may be appropriate.
Should not have
- We don't want the logo to include the full text "Hunger and Nutrition Commitment Index".
We definitely don't want pictures of starving children or overly emotive images of hunger and malnutrition.
